Period 9 of the 玄空 (Xuan Kong) Flying Star cycle ran from 2024 to 2043. It is the current period — all flying-star readings between 2024 and 2043 are anchored against the Period 9 transit pattern.

The ruling star: 九紫 (Nine Purple)

Each of the nine periods is governed by a different star number from the Luo Shu (洛書) sequence. Period 9's ruling star is 九紫 (Star 9 Nine Purple), of the fire element, classically associated with the south palace and the 離 trigram.

Period 9 is the current period (2024–2043). The ruling star (九紫) is the 右弼星 (right-helper star), classically associated with fame, visibility, fire-element industries (technology, beauty, lighting, media, vision-related fields), and aesthetic recognition. Buildings constructed during Period 9 — the new BTO and condo developments since 2024 — are anchored to this register. Modern relevance: reading Period 9 buildings today

Period 9 governs all current feng shui readings, regardless of a building's natal period. New BTO flats from 2024 onward and new condominium launches from 2024 onward are Period 9 anchored — these are the most chart-fit-favourable for households whose careers / goals align with the fire-element registers (technology, media, visibility-driven industries). Buildings from earlier periods are read against the Period 9 overlay; the interaction patterns are central to year-by-year audit work.

Why generic Period 9 guidance fails

The period anchor is one layer of the feng shui reading, not the whole reading. The household's actual experience also depends on the building's 阳宅三要 configuration (door, master bedroom, stove octants — see FS-8: Singapore HDB & Condo for the door×master matrix), the occupants' personal BaZi and Zi Wei Dou Shu charts, and the year-on-year flying-star transits. Generic per-period guidance can name the natal anchor and the most-watched register; it cannot tell you which patterns activate for your household. • Identify your home’s period from the construction year (or the major-renovation year that may have reset it). For most current Singapore housing stock this is Period 7 (1984–2003), Period 8 (2004–2023), or Period 9 (2024–present).
• For Period 9 buildings, the most-watched register is fame, beauty, technology, light, middle-daughter register, vision, spiritual / aesthetic visibility. Whether this register actually activates for your household depends on the chart-aware audit layers.

• Existing-residence audit. A full residential feng shui audit reads the natal Period 9 anchor + current Period 9 overlay + your charts together, and produces specific structural / orientation / timing guidance.
• Do not rely on object-based remedies for the period anchor. The period chart is a structural feature of the building; it cannot be modified by retail products. Classical correction is structural (sector-specific room allocation, entry-sequence adjustment) and timing-based (avoid certain transit years for major decisions).
