This is the master directory for the Singapore HDB & Condo Feng Shui reference library. The library is grounded in two classical sources: 阳宅三要 (Yang Zhai San Yao — the “Three Essentials” of the yang dwelling, focused on the door, master bedroom, and stove), and 八宅 (Eight Mansions — the eight outcome classes that emerge from door-master pairings).
The thesis behind this library is set out in Master Sean Chan’s blog post on the templated-design issue with modern Singapore apartments and condominiums: developers maximise unit count by placing the main door and master bedroom at diagonally-opposite corners of each unit, which produces a predictable and limited set of 阳宅三要 configurations across the dominant majority of mass-market HDB and condo projects in Singapore today. This library catalogues the configurations that result.
Voice constraint: the pages name the configuration, the classical reading, and the observed register. They do not teach the methodology that derives the configuration from a floor plan. For a chart-aware reading of a specific home you are evaluating, book a pre-purchase feng shui audit (before option-to-purchase) or a residential feng shui audit (post-purchase).
The 64 door × master trigram pairings
Eight door octants × eight master-bedroom octants = 64 cells, grouped by their classical 八宅 outcome class.
生氣宅 · Sheng Qi · Generating Breath
1 of 8 (most auspicious). The most auspicious of the eight classical outcomes — a configuration that supports career, wealth, and lineage simultaneously.
天醫宅 · Tian Yi · Heavenly Doctor
2 of 8. The classical health-supporting configuration. Particularly favourable for elderly occupants and households focused on restorative living.
延年宅 · Yan Nian · Longevity
3 of 8. Marriage-stable but with classical caveat: the female occupant’s health register warrants attention over long residency.
伏位宅 · Fu Wei · Stable Position
4 of 8. The mildest of the four auspicious configurations. Stable and grounding, but does not generate dramatic forward momentum.
禍害宅 · Huo Hai · Calamity
5 of 8 (mildly inauspicious). The mildest of the four inauspicious configurations. Low-grade friction rather than acute harm.
六煞宅 · Liu Sha · Six Killings
6 of 8. Multi-front pressure — legal, contractual, romantic. The harm is spread rather than concentrated.
五鬼宅 · Wu Gui · Five Ghosts
7 of 8. Betrayal-pattern register. The harm comes from previously-trusted sources rather than expected adversaries.
絕命宅 · Jue Ming · Severed Fate
8 of 8 (most inauspicious). The most-watched of the eight outcomes. Severe register touching health, wealth, and lineage simultaneously.
Property type × facing-direction configurations
Five Singapore property types × eight facing directions = 40 cells. Each cell describes the templated configuration most developments produce at that combination, and routes to the corresponding theory page.
4-Room HDB
The Singapore HDB Build-To-Order 4-room flat is a roughly 90–100 m² rectangular footprint with the main door entering at one short end of the unit, an open living-dining axis running the length of the rectangle, and thre…
5-Room HDB
The 5-room BTO flat is a roughly 110–120 m² footprint that adds one more bedroom and typically a household shelter to the 4-room template, but retains the same essential geometry: main door at one short end, common areas…
Executive HDB / Maisonette
Executive flats and HDB Maisonettes are larger and sometimes split-level. Maisonettes place the main door, kitchen, and living-dining on the lower level and the bedroom cluster on the upper level — with the master bedroo…
1–2 BR Templated Condo
Mass-market 1- and 2-bedroom condo units in projects like Lake Grande, Riverfront Residence, and similar large developments are designed for unit-count maximisation: the main door enters from a corridor adjacent to the l…
3–4 BR Templated Condo
3- and 4-bedroom mass-market condo units (typical in projects like Kingsford Waterbay, Affinity @ Serangoon, and similar developments) place the main door at the corridor-side of the unit, the living-dining and balcony o…
