This is the master reference for the nine periods of 玄空飛星 (Xuan Kong Flying Star) feng shui. The classical doctrine divides time into 20-year periods governed by the nine stars of the Luo Shu (洛書) sequence; the full cycle runs 180 years. The current cycle began Period 1 in 1864 and concludes Period 9 in 2043.
Why the period anchor matters: when a building is constructed (or undergoes a chart-resetting major renovation), its natal period chart is fixed by the period in which that construction occurred. The natal period anchor stays with the building permanently and shapes how that building’s feng shui is read against the current period’s transit pattern. A Period 7 (1984–2003) building read in current Period 9 (2024–2043) carries the natal Period 7 anchor with the Period 9 overlay — the interaction is what an audit reads.
