It’s an open secret that I screen the dates and potential partners for my close friends. If you had a friend who can read BaZi, trust me, you’d be asking your friend to do that for you too. The last thing anybody wants is to be in a toxic relationship that throws your life off course. I can’t begin to tell you how much damage a bad marriage can do to your life.

Before I go into the crux of this post and the case study, please understand that abuse comes from and can happen to anyone. It happens to both females and males. If you’re in a situation where you feel threatened and someone is causing you physical harm, please get help from professionals and do not suffer in silence.

Matching BaZi Charts Is Redundant & Unnecessary Sometimes

A lot of people like to assume that there is a perfect match for us out there BaZi-wise, and as long as we find that perfect match, everything will go smoothly. That’s not the right way of looking at it. We’ll always need to analyze the chart for itself first. If the BaZi chart is a bad one, there’s really no point in trying to find a ‘perfect match’.

The above is a strong Yang Fire Daymaster chart. The most critical element in his chart would be the chen Earth you see in his Day Branch. The Day Branch also represents one’s marriage in BaZi. It’s a chart where we need to see Earth strengthen, and ideally, have Metal appearing too. One very big flaw of this chart is that Metal does not appear at all so we’re going to have to rely solely on Earth which isn’t very strong.

The Earth Day Branch of chen does suggest that his wife plays a very important role in his life and she’s also of a good influence. However, there is a volatile side to this in the sense that the dynamics will change. We should not ignore the Wood and Water element hidden within the chen Branch and the fact that the moment the yin Branch appears, a Wood combination is formed. In other words, the nature of this relationship will change at some point.

If we apply BaZI basics to the chart, we know that this male chart holder will limit the progress of whoever he marries because you don’t see any Metal elements, representing the wife, appearing at all. Earth is also under a lot of pressure from Wood. The other way of looking at this is that this male chart holder will not marry a female that is doing well in the first place. Whichever perspective you take, the one thing that’s for sure is that this man won’t be able to uplift the quality of his partner’s life, especially when Yin Fire Rob Wealth also appears, and in his case, his Rob Wealth is what we call Zhen Yang Ren (真羊刃), literally translated as ‘True Goat’s Blade’. Not all Goat’s Blade are the same – some are deadlier than others.

The other tell-tale sign is that the Branch of mao (卯) harms the Branch of chen (辰), and this negative interaction of the Branch clearly indicates the negative dynamics of the relationship. The mao-chen interaction can mean different things in different charts and situations. In this particular case study, we already know its An even deeper analysis will go into what the mao-chen interaction exactly manifests as. Is it a physical form or abuse? Or verbal? Let me know what you think.

To make matters worse, the parents of this chart-holder are clearly not positive influences on his life and they are the cause of his financial hardships. But it is not in the form of vices such as losing money through gambling and whatnot. The impact is a lot more subtle where the male chart holders rely solely on the bad financial advice of his parents. It’s not even a matter of good intentions gone wrong.

What's perhaps the most difficult thing in BaZi is identifying what the "Useful God" of the chart is. "Useful God" refers to the term 用神 ('yong shen') in BaZi where 申 ('shen') refers to the 10 'Gods' we use in BaZi. Each and every single chart will have its own...
