Its primary flavour is Yin Earth, and as a “dry earth” it holds hidden stems 己 (Yin Earth), 丁 (Yin Fire), and 乙 (Yin Wood). The classical reading consideration is moisture: 未 is famously short on Water, and a chart relying on it for Earth quality also needs supplementary Water (壬 or 癸) to keep things workable.
