This is the master directory for the BaZi Ten Gods × Day Master matrix. Every BaZi chart is read relative to its Day Master (the day pillar's heavenly stem), and the other heavenly stems in the chart are classified into one of the Ten Gods based on their elemental relationship to the Day Master. The 100 configurations in this matrix describe how each of the 10 possible Day Masters interacts with each of the 10 Ten Gods.
Voice constraint: these pages name each configuration (e.g., 甲日主見正官) and describe its register; they do not teach the procedure for identifying Ten God relationships in a specific chart. For chart-aware reading, book a BaZi consultation; for self-study, use the free BaZi Calculator; for learning the Ten Gods doctrine in depth, the BaZi Bootcamp covers this in detail.
The 5 Ten God categories
The 10 Ten Gods organise into 5 categories based on the elemental relationship to the Day Master. Each category contains 2 Ten Gods (one same-polarity, one opposite-polarity).
Companions and rivals — same-element relations to the Day Master. Strengthens the Day Master and indicates peers, friends, siblings, business partners, and competitive same-level dynamics.
What the Day Master produces — element generated by self. Indicates creative output, expression, performance, offspring, and the energy invested outward into the world.
What the Day Master controls or works on — element overcome by self. Indicates income, assets, spouse (for male charts), the resources that the consultant manages or earns through effort.
What controls or pressures the Day Master — element overcoming self. Indicates authority, career-pressure, husband (for female charts), institutional structure, and the disciplines that shape the consultant.
What feeds or supports the Day Master — element generating self. Indicates education, mentors, mother, intellectual nurturing, and the foundational support that strengthens the consultant.

How the matrix integrates with chart reading
- Plot the four pillars via the BaZi Calculator.
- Identify the Day Master — the heavenly stem of the day pillar. This is the chart's reference point.
- Identify the other heavenly stems — in the year, month, and hour pillars (and within the earthly branches as hidden stems).
- Calculate Ten God relationships — each non-Day-Master stem gets labelled as one of the 10 Ten Gods relative to the Day Master.
- Read the configurations — for each Ten God present in the chart, look up the Day Master / Ten God pairing in this matrix. The configuration's register tells you how that Ten God's life-pattern manifests for your specific Day Master.
- Layer in luck pillars — every 10 years, a new luck pillar introduces a new heavenly stem and earthly branch. New Ten God configurations may activate; existing ones may strengthen or weaken.
