I’ve Been Appointed As The Feng Shui Key Opinion Leader (KOL) For 99.co!

April 10, 2018

Hey everyone! Quick update!

I spent a bit of time in my previous post talking about how I function in terms of partnerships and who I work with, and mentioned that I have something coming up with 99.co, so here it is!

I’m now officially their appointed Key Opinion Leader for topics related to feng shui and Chinese metaphysics in general. The company, myself and a group of other experts in their various fields related to real estate and design will be coming together to help everyone find their dream homes. If you’ve not heard of 99.co, just do a quick Google search and you’ll know that they are one of the hottest start-ups in Singapore, with high profile investors include Sequoia Capital and Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin.

You may have cross across a few of the articles I’ve written for them in the past:

Case study using the 8 mansions feng shui method

Cultural significance of the lunar 8th month

Do you need to make any major changes to your property’s feng shui in 2018?

I’ll definitely continue to write guests posts whenever I have time or when the need arises (like the recent announcement of open kitchens for BTOs), and will inform everyone via my blog and Facebook page whenever it’s published. Everyone’s a bit too stretched at the moment to be constantly coming up with relevant, high-quality content for the community so do bear with us. If you have any suggestions on what you wish to read or know more about, do leave a comment and let me know!

Gosh… I’m extremely honoured and humbled at the same time to be given this opportunity. I’ve never thought this sideline would eventually lead me to such partnerships eventually. Just to be clear, I’m not being paid by them and this is not an endorsed post. It’s really just people coming together wanting to do good work. I see the team there more like friends rather than business partners actually and how I first got to know the team was a rather serendipitous event. I just wanted to share this piece of goods news with everyone as this sideline of mine continues to grow and I’m thankful for everyone’s support over the years, with past clients reaching out to send their well wishes. Some of them have seen me start from scratch and witnessed the growth of this sideline in the past 4 to 5 years. A quick disclaimer though: Should the day come when the ideologies of 99.co and mine start to divert, I will end the working relationship with them and announce it on my website and I have made this very clear to them. Strictly no posts promoting feng shui items or forecasts because those are utter nonsense, and I have made it very clear that if they have intentions to bring in other practitioners who advocate such things, I’m out. It’s not about me wanting to hog them for myself – I just happen to have the ability to foresee things and how they unfold (with or without my knowledge in metaphysics) so I’m always very clear with my intentions in hopes that it will simplify things for everyone in the long run. If they bring in another practitioner with different views and agendas, there will definitely be complications and it’s the communities that will suffer due to all the conflicting opinions and advice.

The team at 99.co are well aware of how different I am from a lot of the incumbents practitioners, and they’ve always allowed me to write with my true voice and not what’s popular. I don’t think any practitioner has come out to declare that zodiac forecasts are complete hogwash and a ludicrous yearly practice. I am extremely grateful towards the team for allowing me to speak what I really believe in, instead of whatever that generates clicks and creates hype. I know this sounds very cliché, but at the end of the day, both the team at 99.co and I really just wish to bring value to our stakeholders in our own unique ways and we happened to find a lot of synergy together. I really have to thank them for taking a chance on me and also for their faith in me, especially when I’m considered a very non-conventional practitioner.

The team there and I have a lot of things in common and we can relate each other very well given the fact that everyone works at startups – although I’m not sure if the company I’m working for is still considered one. We really want to make a change and disrupt whatever industry we are in, and to achieve that while starting from nothing really requires us to give our heart and soul into whatever we do so in order to build the trust of the people we serve and for the things we do to gain traction. It’s not for the sake of creating trouble or rattling the cages of the incumbents, but rather, we really hope to make things better than it currently is and it has been something that’s been fueling me all this while and giving me the fortitude to be juggle two jobs. As the CEO of the company I’m working for puts it, “know your why”, because when you know your purpose, it changes everything. I’m not going to explicitly mention which company I work for especially given what’s going on now. My LinkedIn profile is on my blog’s landing page so you can check it out if you want to. All I can say is, as predicted, 2018 is a hell of a crazy year for me. You’ll understand when you find out where I work, and yes, for the new readers – I have a full-time job as well.

I hope with the help of these companies who have a much better reach than I do, I can start getting my message out there and create some meaningful impact on this field. I really don’t like the state of things now. I’m also in talks with a bank right now, so hopefully that goes well. I’m happy to be their exclusive speaker at their events, but only if I get to decide what is being said and presented at events. Like I said, I won’t throw myself in front of the media for the sake of it. My real voice will always be heard no matter what the medium.

Oh! One more thing and I’m pretty excited about this! I have a new logo! I suppose I don’t have to point out which is the newer one here.

About time I updated it to make it look nicer and more professional. The old one was done up by one of my very first few clients for free as a gesture of his support and it has served me well as a form of brand identity. Really does bring back a lot of memories when I first started out and the difficulties I had to go through.

I’m really trying to find more time to write meaningful posts. It’s increasingly getting harder to do that, but I’ll definitely try. Meanwhile, I hope everyone’s 2018 has been great so far and not too exhausting! I’ll be in touch again with a new post really soon!
