My oh my, I can’t believe this is the second case study inspired by Single’s Inferno. You know you’re having a midlife crisis and are sick of meaningless zodiac forecasts when you’re blogging about Netflix shows.
What’s the first case study inspired by Singles’ Inferno? Well, it’s inspired by none other than this fella here:
I think he is still single AF. Thank Heavens.

May I say I really enjoyed this season! It’s the 5th season now, and everyone thought people were gonna get bored with his franchise and genre, but lo and behold, Netflix did not disappoint. I think the cast is lovely! There’s no one who’s too odd, and everyone was rather likeable.
Now, before I move on, I just want to say that I’d like to think of myself as a bit of a gentleman, so I’m not going to be disrespectful to the person in this case study. I will still have some flair, of course.
Let’s all find out if Choi Mina-Sue really has the kind of chart your mother warned you about.
Introducing ‘Gwan Her’

I had no idea who she was till I started watching the show. I think everyone agrees that she made a good impression and gave off really pleasant vibes at the start. She’s bubbly, lively, and genuinely likeable. I liked her, too, when she first appeared.
Now, of course, it didn’t take long for the antics to start. To summarise, Choi Mina Sue’s indecisiveness and shifting romantic interests on Single’s Inferno Season 5 have made her a central figure of controversy, leading to intense scrutiny from viewers, online backlash, and even an apology from the show’s panellists.
Now, some say it’s clever editing to make her look like a villain to generate buzz on the show; viewers think that she’s another Gwan Hee, or ‘Gwan Her’ at this point. Does she deserve the flak? We’ll see in a bit.
This case study aside, and I’ll be honest, if any girl were to keep my son second-guessing all the time or lead him on, I will bury her.
Let’s all take a chill pill and look at what the charts have to say.
Reverse Engineering Her Astrological Charts

Now, before I begin, I might have very well got her birth time wrong. If it’s wrong, it’s wrong. I whipped this up in record time and didn’t want to waste time on multiple deep-dive checks.
There are a few reasons why I feel this is her birth time, and I’m laughing to myself because it does bring back some ‘traumatic’ memories of my own.
Her Zi Wei Dou Shu Chart
First of all, what stood out the most was the Zi Wei Dou Shu chart because I swear to Heavens this girl gives off 贪狼 (literally translated as “Greedy Wolf”) vibes. If there is a female Zi Wei Dou Shu chart that has the ability to win beauty pageants, trust me, it’s going to be one that’s under a high-quality 贪狼 chart because this star basically gives anyone, especially a lady, elegance and charm.
Her 贪狼 chart is also considered very high quality, as it is tagged with 化权 and encounters beneficial stars like 禄存 and 右弼, and even has 铃贪格。贪狼 likes to encounter 煞星 like 火星 and 铃星 – it converts some of 贪狼’s negative traits into drive and ambition. She’s not just pretty; she’s also clearly very intelligent and driven, given her credentials.
Now, what stands out to me is that her 贪狼 is also under the influence of 文昌,文曲化忌,红鸾, and 咸池。 Holy f***ing shi,t that is five Peach Blossom stars at play in her chart. 贪狼 itself is a Peach Blossom star.
I think we all agree that this girl is charming, but it’s the excessive Peach Blossom stars that are making her behave the way she does and giving her a bad rep.
Her BaZi Chart
Again, I could not help but chuckle when I looked at her BaZi chart. Let’s bring it in again:

This is a strong Yin Wood 乙木 Daymaster, and technically falls under 劫财格 because the Yang Wood 甲木 on her Hour Stem is “rooted”. The “Useful God” (用神) for her chart would definitely be Yang Fire 丙。 Her BaZi chart also has very clear signs of why she had to move around so much – she lived in South Korea, Canada, the US, and China.
Her demeanour and free-spiritedness are very, very typical of someone who has a 乙巳 Day Pillar. I have another client who has a rather similar chart, and funnily enough, she’s also Korean, in the US, and is very charming, although very, very high all the time.
There is a reason 乙巳 Day Pillar people behave like Mina, but I won’t go into the technicalities. If you want to know the technicalities, you’re always welcome here, and I’ll break down the details there.
This chart does not just have a rooted 甲 Wood, but also a rooted 丙 Fire 伤官。This 丙 Fire on her Month Stem, along with the 丙 Fire expressed by her 巳 Day Branch, is why she’s the way she is. This is the part of the chart that makes her wear her heart on her sleeve, and perhaps sometimes a bit of a drama queen, as we have witnessed a few times on the show.
As annoying as some people might find that, let’s give her credit that she at least wasn’t being pretentious on the show. She was really being herself.
The strongly rooted 甲 Wood means she’s not going to lack men in her life, clearly.
The biggest issue that jumps out at me, though, is that her chart has 寅巳申三刑, which affects 申 Metal, which holds her Spouse Element of Yang Metal 庚金 。 There is some tension and instability in her charts, and they make her come across as someone who may find it hard to settle down. I guess that’s why 寅巳申三刑 is also called 无恩之刑。
The reason she’s gonna get a lot more famous is that 2026 is a 丙午 year, and her most important element of 丙 shows up. 丙 itself can represent fame too. This fame does come with some repercussions, as 寅巳申三刑 triggers, which is why her fame attracts a lot of controversy.
Her Western Chart

We Got Ourselves A Pisces Here – Mercury In Pisces Too!
Ah, another dear fellow Pisces. I hate to say this, but I don’t blame her for being the way she is because f*** me sideways, we have ourselves another Mercury in Pisces.
You see me make fun of Mercury in Pisces because Mercury does not like to be in Pisces, traditionally speaking. Mercury loses its virtues there. The planet of communication and rational thought is in the dreamiest, fluffiest sign. There will be a lot of mental fog. They expect you to know what they’re thinking, and there is a passive-aggressive sensivity in them too – which Mina did portray on the show!
I deal with a lot of Mercury in Pisces people, but every single one of them makes me foam at the mouth. But hey! Guess what? I’m Mercury in Pisces too (but I’m special!).
And guess what else?! Her Eros is eerily close to her Mercury. This is the part of her that romanticises the wrong things, and also makes her intense and hungry for connection. The more romantic, poetic, and seductive – the better.
It’s Not Just Her Pisces – Let’s Look At Venus
It’s not just her placements in Pisces that are causing the contestants wish the island sank.
Venus governs love, and her Venus is in Aries. Guess what? Venus does not like to be here, either! Why? Because Venus wants to create beauty and stability, but Aries is not about that. Aries is about independence, self-reliance, starting fires, and winning battles. The energies associated with Venus contradict Aries, which is why Aries is the opposite sign to Libra, where Venus is domiciled.
You know what is the funny thing to me here as an astrologer? Her Venus is conjunct her Jupiter, and Jupiter rules Pisces, meaning her Pisces in Mercury is heavily influenced by her Jupiter and Venus. It’s even funnier because Venus and Jupiter rule her 5th and 7th Houses, both of which heavily influence romance and relationships.
Her Venus in Aries is the part of her chart that makes her go for what she wants – and we all know she can be quite aggressive. But the moment she gets someone’s interest, her bloody Mercury in Pisces kicks in.
Her Aries placements are the reason why she is OK with chasing, but the moment someone catches her, tries to be an adult about things, and things get real, she turns into mist because her Mercury in Pisces kicks in, and she withdraws. Then, she feels misunderstood, which is also very Mercury in Pisces. This is why she went “flirting” with four of the male contestants.
Now, you will realise she talks a lot because she is a Gemini Ascendant and the ruling planet is in her 10th House, but I don’t recall her really opening up and talking about her feelings. I attribute that to her Moon in the 12th House of Taurus. It’s a very secure placement, but it’s also one where she doesn’t talk about her feelings as openly.
Of course, Saturn has to be in Aries too, and oh god, it doesn’t like to be here too. It adds to the impatience and doesn’t help with Mercury in Pisces, and it might also make her a bit more oblivious to her flaws.
The Timing of Events
Now, this season of Singles’ Inferno was filmed sometime between the end of June and the beginning of July. Saturn basically passed by her Mercury, conjunct her Venus and Jupiter, and went back into forming a conjunction with her Mercury again after filming was complete.
You could say she learned some karmic lessons on that island, and that it was brought to the attention of world viewers because, like the case of the girl who screamed too loudly and brought down an entire real estate company, Saturn and Neptune are forming a conjunction where her natal Venus is at. Saturn will conjunct her Venus again very soon, while forming a Trine with her Chiron. Some healing, in the form of facing reality, is on the way, although I foresee it to be a wild ride since Saturn doesn’t like to be in Aries.
Mina probably didn’t see a problem in the way she went about finding love – but I guess this transit, manifested in the form of her being. onthe show, will let her see that now.
One Last Thing – Her Chiron
I did notice one last thing: Chiron. It’s in her 7th House of Sagittarius.
Chiron in the 7th House already signifies a deep-seated, painful wound regarding relationships, beliefs, and freedom, often stemming from childhood experiences. It manifests as fears of abandonment, lack of trust, or difficulty feeling truly “seen” by a partner.
Guess which planet ruled Sagittarius? Yep. It’s Jupiter.
In her pursuit to mend her wounds, her Jupiter will be activated, meaning her Venus, Mercury, and Eros will all be activated. As much as she is fishing for a good catch, taking a bite off the damn thing, and then throwing the fish back into the sea, a part of her is also deeply insecure. Because this is Sagittarius, and Sagittarius is also philosophical, having a relationship invalidates the way she sees the world or thinks, which is something she really fears.
It’s as though she wants the perfect romance (typical of Pisces), but is afraid of being disappointed.
Her Love Life Is None Of Our Business – But Here’s The Conclusion
I’m going to be honest here. Unless her self-awareness increases, and I really mean deep, deep self-awareness and digging into her fears and insecurities, this pattern of behaviour will likely show up in real life, outside of the show as well. I hope it doesn’t, of course.
If she were a client, I’d definitely say there are things to watch out for in the romance department.
I feel there’s no need to critique or defend her. She’s just being her. I think she knows better than anyone that, regardless of your intentions, consequences follow. She’s young and probably never got to establish really strong roots somewhere while growing up, seeing that she moved about so many times. Her 4th House Ruler is Mercury and it’s in Pisces after all, and perhaps this lack of rootedness is also why she wants to find a fairy tale for herself.
I get that it’s fun to chime in on all the buzz around the show, but it’s funny how many people feel like they had a smooth love life in their 20s and that they treated everyone who showed interest fairly. Well, did you? I definitely didn’t at her age. *Shrugs*
I will say one thing, though, as someone who has gone through thousands of charts. Choi Mina-Sue is by no means a malicious or manipulative person. She’s just someone who thoroughly enjoys being in her own fantasy world. Nothing wrong with that, but again, consequences.
Now, I cannot speak for women, but I can speak for men, and it might be a bit weird to end this blog post this way. I am saying this as a married man blessed with a really good wife, and I’m also a Pisces. The influence of a good partner/wife, who is not only beautiful but also patient and wise, can lift a man to unimaginable heights. Why? Well, the simple answer is that it’s just the way it is. If I had to give a more nuanced answer, the kind of emotions and inspiration the right partner can stir is something money simply cannot buy, and there is no greater force than this. I’m not sure how women view things, but I hope it’s the same.
There is really no greater positive influence on a man than a good life partner. It’s a pity that most people won’t know what this means, especially when you’re stuck with a bloody Cat. 4 spouse. Whether or not you choose to be the kind of person who brings out the best or the worst in someone is completely up to you.
Let’s hope Mina does the former!
– Sean
