My oh my, I can’t believe this is the second case study inspired by Single’s Inferno. You know you’re having a midlife crisis and are sick of meaningless zodiac forecasts when you’re blogging about Netflix shows.
What’s the first case study inspired by Single’s Inferno? Well, it’s inspired by none other than this fella here:
Last I heard, I think he impregnated a basketball. Thank Heavens.

May I say I really enjoyed this season! It’s the 5th season now, and everyone thought people were gonna get bored with his franchise and genre, but lo and behold, Netflix did not disappoint. I think the cast is lovely! There’s no one who’s too odd, and everyone was rather likeable.
Now, before I move on, I just want to say that I’d like to think of myself as a bit of a gentleman, so I’m not going to be disrespectful to the person in this case study, especially when I feel she doesn’t deserve it. It’s not like she slept with her boss to get ahead and still has the audacity to give life advice like an influencer we know, ya know? My irreverence will always be left for the Cat. 4s, which the person in this case study definitely isn’t one.
I will still have some flair, of course.
Let’s all find out if Choi Mina-Sue really has the kind of chart your mother warned you about.
Introducing ‘Gwan Her’

I had no idea who she was till I started watching the show. I think everyone agrees that she made a good impression and gave off really pleasant vibes at the start. She’s bubbly, lively, and genuinely likeable. I liked her, too, when she first appeared. She was the most real person on the show and clearly wasn’t trying to brand herself through it.
Now, of course, it didn’t take long for the antics to start. To summarise, Choi Mina Sue’s indecisiveness and shifting romantic interests on Single’s Inferno Season 5 have made her a central figure of controversy, leading to intense scrutiny from viewers, online backlash, and even an apology from the show’s panellists.
Now, some say it’s clever editing to make her look like a villain to generate buzz on the show; viewers think that she’s another Gwan Hee, or ‘Gwan Her’ at this point. Does she deserve the flak? We’ll see in a bit.
This case study aside, and I’ll be honest, if any girl were to keep my son second-guessing all the time or lead him on, I will bury her. I think anyone in a committed and fulfilled relationship will agree with me that mind games are really annoying and unnecessary, and only insecure people would indulge in such practices.
Let’s all take a chill pill and look at what the charts have to say.
Birthtime Rectification Of Choi Mina-Sue’s Charts

Now, before I begin, I might have very well got her birth time wrong. If it’s wrong, it’s wrong. I whipped this up in record time and didn’t want to waste time on multiple deep-dive checks. I chose what made sense intuitively.
There are a few reasons why I feel this is her birth time, and I’m laughing to myself because it does bring back some ‘traumatic’ memories of my own.
Choi Mina-Sue’s Zi Wei Dou Shu Chart
First of all, what stood out the most was the Zi Wei Dou Shu chart because I swear to Heavens this girl gives off 贪狼 (literally translated as “Greedy Wolf”) vibes. If there is a female Zi Wei Dou Shu chart that has the ability to win beauty pageants, trust me, it’s going to be one that’s under a high-quality 贪狼 chart because this star basically gives anyone, especially a lady, elegance and charm.
Her 贪狼 chart is also considered very high quality, as it is tagged with 化权 and encounters beneficial stars like 禄存 and 右弼, and even has 铃贪格。贪狼 likes to encounter 煞星 like 火星 and 铃星 – it converts some of 贪狼’s negative traits into drive and ambition. She’s not just pretty; she’s also clearly very intelligent and driven, as evidenced by her credentials.
Now, what stands out to me is that her 贪狼 is also under the influence of 文昌,文曲化忌,红鸾, and 咸池。 Holy f***ing shi,t that is five Peach Blossom stars at play in her chart. 贪狼 itself is a Peach Blossom star. I’ve said it before, but 贪狼 does not like to appear with additional Peach Blossom stars because too much 桃花, well, causes issues.
I think we all agree that this girl is charming, but it’s the excessive Peach Blossom stars that are making her behave the way she does and giving her a bad rep.
Choi Mina-Sue’s Saju (사주) aka BaZi Chart
Again, I could not help but chuckle when I looked at her BaZi chart. Let’s bring it in again:

This is a strong Yin Wood 乙木 Daymaster, and technically falls under 劫财格 (Rob Wealth Structure) because the Yang Wood 甲木 on her Hour Stem is “rooted”. This is the part of her chart that can make her a little bit more self-centred (which she admitted herself), but in the form of her holding on to her ideals and way of thinking too tightly – a kind of self-righteous stubbornness if I’d put it my way. The strongly rooted 甲 Wood means she’s not going to lack men in her life, clearly.
Thankfully, there is a remedy built into her natal chart, and the “Useful God” (用神) for her chart would definitely be Yang Fire 丙。 Her BaZi chart also has very clear signs of why she had to move around so much – she lived in South Korea, Canada, the US, and China.
Her demeanour and free-spiritedness are very, very typical of someone who has a 乙巳 Day Pillar. I have another client who has a rather similar chart, and, funnily enough, she’s also Korean, in the US, very charming, and very high and animated all the time.
There is a reason 乙巳 Day Pillar people behave like Mina, but I won’t go into the technicalities. If you want to know the technicalities, you’re always welcome here, and I’ll break down the details there.
This chart does not just have a rooted 甲 Wood, but also a rooted 丙 Fire 伤官。This 丙 Fire on her Month Stem, along with the 丙 Fire expressed by her 巳 Day Branch, is why she’s the way she is. This is the part of the chart that makes her wear her heart on her sleeve, and perhaps sometimes a bit of a drama queen, as we have witnessed a few times on the show. People with a strong 伤官 will always be expressive, but thankfully, her 伤官 plays a positive role. This 伤官 is also the reason why she’s a pageant queen.
As annoying as some people might find that, let’s give her credit that she at least wasn’t being pretentious on the show. She was really being herself.
The biggest issue that jumps out at me, though, is that her chart has 寅巳申三刑, which affects 申 Metal, which holds her Spouse Element of Yang Metal 庚金 。 There is some tension and instability in her charts, and they make her come across as someone who may find it hard to settle down. I guess that’s why 寅巳申三刑 is also called 无恩之刑。
The reason she’s gonna get a lot more famous is that 2026 is a 丙午 year, and her most important element of 丙 shows up. 丙 itself can represent fame too. This fame does come with some repercussions, as 寅巳申三刑 triggers, which is why her fame attracts a lot of controversy.
Her Western Astrological Chart

We Got Ourselves A Pisces Here – Mercury In Pisces Too!
Ah, another dear fellow Pisces. I hate to say this, but I don’t blame her for being the way she is because f*** me sideways, we have ourselves another Mercury in Pisces.
You see me make fun of Mercury in Pisces because Mercury does not like to be in Pisces, traditionally speaking. Mercury loses its virtues there. The planet of communication and rational thought is in the dreamiest, fluffiest sign. There will be a lot of mental fog. They expect you to know what they’re thinking, and there is a passive-aggressive sensivity in them too – which Mina did portray on the show!
I deal with a lot of Mercury in Pisces people, but every single one of them makes me foam at the mouth. But hey! Guess what? I’m Mercury in Pisces too (but I’m special!).
And guess what else?! Her Eros is eerily close to her Mercury. This is the part of her that romanticises the wrong things, and also makes her intense and hungry for connection. The more romantic, poetic, and seductive – the better.
It’s Not Just Her Pisces – Let’s Look At Venus
It’s not just her placements in Pisces that are causing the contestants wish the island sank.
Venus governs love, and her Venus is in Aries. Guess what? Venus does not like to be here, either! Why? Because Venus wants to create beauty and stability, but Aries is not about that. Aries is about independence, self-reliance, starting fires, and winning battles. The energies associated with Venus contradict Aries, which is why Aries is the opposite sign to Libra, where Venus is domiciled.
You know what is the funny thing to me here as an astrologer? Her Venus is conjunct her Jupiter, and Jupiter rules Pisces, meaning her Pisces in Mercury is heavily influenced by her Jupiter and Venus. It’s even funnier because Venus and Jupiter rule her 5th and 7th Houses, both of which heavily influence romance and relationships.
Her Venus in Aries is the part of her chart that makes her go for what she wants – and we all know she can be quite aggressive. But the moment she gets someone’s interest, her bloody Mercury in Pisces kicks in.
Her Aries placements are the reason why she is OK with chasing, but the moment someone catches her, tries to be an adult about things, and things get real, she turns into mist because her Mercury in Pisces kicks in, and she withdraws. Then, she feels misunderstood, which is also very Mercury in Pisces. This is why she went “flirting” with four of the male contestants.
Now, you will realise she talks a lot because she is a Gemini Ascendant and the ruling planet is in her 10th House, but I don’t recall her really opening up and talking about her feelings. I attribute that to her Moon in the 12th House of Taurus. It’s a very secure placement, but it’s also one where she doesn’t talk about her feelings as openly.
Her Mars adds a whole new layer of sass because, despite her Mercury in Pisces, she is still fully capable of being assertive and going after what she wants, especially when her planets in Aries are influenced by her domiciled Mars in Scorpio.
Of course, Saturn has to be in Aries too, and oh god, it doesn’t like to be here too. It adds to the impatience and doesn’t help with Mercury in Pisces, and it might also make her a bit more oblivious to her flaws.
The Timing of Events
Now, this season of Singles’ Inferno was filmed sometime between the end of June and the beginning of July. Saturn basically passed by her Mercury, conjunct her Venus and Jupiter, and went back into forming a conjunction with her Mercury again after filming was complete.
You could say she learned some karmic lessons on that island, and that it was brought to the attention of world viewers because, like the case of the girl who screamed too loudly and brought down an entire real estate company, Saturn and Neptune are forming a conjunction where her natal Venus is at. Saturn will conjunct her Venus again very soon, while forming a Trine with her Chiron. Some healing, in the form of facing reality, is on the way, although I foresee it to be a wild ride since Saturn doesn’t like to be in Aries.
Mina probably didn’t see a problem in the way she went about finding love – but I guess this transit, manifested in the form of her being. on the show, will let her see that now.
One Last Thing – Her Chiron
I did notice one last thing: Chiron. It’s in her 7th House of Sagittarius.
Chiron in the 7th House already signifies a deep-seated, painful wound regarding relationships, beliefs, and freedom, often stemming from childhood experiences. It manifests as fears of abandonment, lack of trust, or difficulty feeling truly “seen” by a partner.
Guess which planet ruled Sagittarius? Yep. It’s Jupiter.
In her pursuit to mend her wounds, her Jupiter will be activated, meaning her Venus, Mercury, and Eros will all be activated. As much as she is fishing for a good catch, taking a bite off the damn thing, and then throwing the fish back into the sea, a part of her is also deeply insecure. Because this is Sagittarius, and Sagittarius is also philosophical, having a relationship invalidates the way she sees the world or thinks, which is something she really fears.
It’s as though she wants the perfect romance (typical of Pisces), but is afraid of being disappointed.
Her Love Life Is None Of Our Business – But Here’s The Conclusion
So, is this the kind of chart your mother (who, let’s be honest, doesn’t know s*** about astrology) warns you about? Perhaps. Her innocence is endearing at times if you really understand what drives her, but I can also understand why it might be annoying to date her.
Whatever it is, it’s a bit sad to see people flood her Instagram with negative comments just because of a show we’re supposed to enjoy and make our hearts flutter with young, naive love.
I can understand why viewers are frustrated, but after analysing thousands of charts, I have to offer a different perspective. Choi Mina-Sue isn’t a malicious or manipulative architect. She is simply someone who thoroughly enjoys inhabiting her own fantasy world, albeit a bit too much. In many ways, her life is already like a fairy tale. There’s no crime in that – but in metaphysics, as in life, there are always consequences. Being on the show may have felt like a fantasy to her at first, as if she could meet the love of her life, but it turned out to be a reality check.
The Need for Radical Self-Awareness
Unless her self-awareness increases – and I’m talking about a deep, uncomfortable excavation of her fears and insecurities – this pattern will likely bleed into her real life, far beyond the cameras of Single’s Inferno. If she were my client, I’d be very clear: there are significant “red flags” to watch for in the romance department.
There’s no need to critique or defend her. She’s just being herself. But intentions don’t negate outcomes. She’s young and lacked strong roots growing up, moving constantly. With her 4th House Ruler being Mercury in Pisces, that lack of rootedness likely fuels her desire to manifest a “fairy tale” for herself.
Frankly, she’s probably the same in real life as she is on the show, and I would presume the show is the universe’s lesson to her that it might not be the best way to handle her love life.
In Defence Of Choi Mina-Sue
While many are quick to judge her actions as manipulative, my analysis suggests something far less sinister. True narcissism in a chart leaves very specific, dark signatures which are absent in her chart. Trust me, I’ve seen charts of narcissists before, and this isn’t one.
It feels more like she’s naive to a fault.
What we are seeing is the classic “Piscean Projection.” She is so deeply immersed in her own emotions and ideals that she naively assumes everyone else is on the same page. This leads to a disconnect between her intentions and how they are received by the public. She isn’t trying to win a game of chess; she’s just trying to stay inside a dream that the rest of the world isn’t part of.
I also think we forgot that she was born in Sydney and that her formative years weren’t spent only in conservative Korea, so, of course, her behaviour and demeanour would be completely different from the rest.
A Reality Check for the Critics
It’s easy to join the digital dogpile, but it’s funny how many people act like they had a perfectly smooth love life in their 20s. Did you really treat everyone who showed interest fairly? I certainly didn’t at her age. Shrugs.
In the eyes of astrology, until you turn 30, you’re still a child.

I don’t think anyone wants to be on such a popular show just to ruin their reputation and receive hate from people all over the world, and I don’t feel the scenes of her crying were orchestrated or fake. She could have been defensive, but she wasn’t. She also showed growth in Episode 9. I think she just didn’t expect her Single’s Inferno experience to turn out like that.
I also think none of us wanted her Single’s Inferno experience to turn out like that. It could have been really sweet, but look at what happened. Everyone’s acting as though they are the perfect lovers and companions.
She, like many people, especially when they’re pre-Saturn Return, is still figuring themselves out. I personally don’t feel she deserves that much flak.
Also, to be completely fair to Mina, Kim Min-gee picked Lim Su-been instead of Song Seung-il to head to paradise in Espide 9 to get back at Sung-il, even though he clearly expressed interest. Su Been was also playing hard to get throughout. Anyway, Episode 9 was pretty wild because the three ladies who headed to paradise picked partners no one expected. Everyone had their own quirks and moments. Whether or not Episode 9 was scripted to manage the series’ optics and vibe, we don’t know. Even if the products did script it this way, I have to say it’s very well-played.
Perhaps everyone’s a bit too harsh on her. That said, I agree it’s still a bit annoying seeing her flip-flop like that, but I guess I’m going a bit easy on her because I can read charts and can understand why she’s like that. It would have been really sweet to see her committed to one guy right from the start, but oh well – we’re all born the way we are.
The Power of the Right Partner
I can’t speak for women, but I can speak for men. I say this as a married man blessed with a truly good wife – and as a fellow Pisces who can be a bit dreamy myself (but thank Heavens for my Saturn and Moon to balance it). The influence of a partner who is not only beautiful but patient and wise can lift a man to unimaginable heights.
Why? The simple answer is that it’s just the way the universe is wired. The nuanced answer is that the inspiration and kind of emotions a right partner stirs is something money cannot buy. There is no greater force for a man’s growth than a good life partner. It’s a pity most people won’t realise this – especially those stuck with a Category 4 spouse.
Ultimately, whether you choose to be the kind of person who brings out the best or the worst in someone is a choice. But I guess that comes with figuring ourselves first. Let’s hope Mina chooses the former, and let’s wish her all the best!
And whew! What an entertaining season! I love it.
