November Updates + I’m On Her World!

Hey everyone!

This entry is going to a bit more personal and will carry a different tone and I hope you enjoy reading it! Anyway… Wah-lah~! Here’s the media feature that I spoke about some time ago! It’ the November digital edition of Her World Singapore. You won’t find the article on the physical copy just FYI. First of all, pardon the ghastly picture of my head! I don’t usually take pictures and the feature had too many words to fit in a full body picture so they decided to picked one from my Facebook and crop my head out. That picture was taken when I just graduated from university in 2011. I’d like to think that I look a lot ‘softer’ now!

If you’re a reader who stumbled upon my website due to the article, welcome! It doesn’t matter if you don’t believe in such esoteric stuff such as metaphysics, but I do hope you at least get a bit of entertainment seeing how a 30 year old ‘fortune teller’ see the worlds through his eyes. Oh yea, just to repeat something I mentioned in previous entries – I’d prefer being called something else other than ‘fortune teller’, but the editor felt it would click with more people so the word was used.

Some time has elapsed since I got interviewed so I’ll just give some personal updates from my side. I’m no longer with the restaurant chain they spoke of. On hindsight it was a bad decision on my part due to the huge switch into an industry which I was not passionate about – I only joined them because the job fell on my lap and they offered a pay bump. I left as it dawned upon me that my career will stagnate in the long run and I wanted to be part of a more fast-paced and growing industry. Culture played a huge part as well of course. I managed to secure something else very quickly and now I’m back to the tech and start-up scene. I guess I won’t hide where I’m working anymore as since it’s really quite easy to find me if someone really wanted to, but I’ll be joining Grab (formally GrabTaxi) and I’m extremely excited as it’s one of the ‘hottest’ start-ups to work for. I was previously from Lazada as a department head – I hope everyone enjoys shopping there!

It’s been an amazing year and I’m extremely grateful. The trials that I had to go through when I was younger are paying off and I’m proud of how far I’ve come. I really just want to focus on living a good life and make it count before it all ends. If you’re curious, you can read a very personal note I’ve written on Facebook here. I’m very open about my past and I’ve always hoped by embracing it and sharing what I’ve gone through and how I grew from it, people going through similar circumstances can benefit one way or another. One of the things that kept me going was knowing that knowing I had a turning point somewhere and it seems to have arrived as predicted. I know some people might say that it’s a self-fulfilling prophecy because I can read my own 八字 chart, but even if it is so, 八字 it is not above the law of cause-and-effect which is why Buddha encouraged his disciples to understand cause-and-effect more so than astrology or metaphysics. What I’m trying to say is that, whatever difficulties you’re facing, don’t give up and keep planting those ‘seeds’ towards the kind of life you want and you’ll realize one day you transcended your chart.

I’m really very grateful for the interview and coverage. It does help me convey a lot of the things I’ve always wanted my clients to bear in mind, that this field is meant to self-empower and enrich so that you can transcend your 八字 and that there’s a reason we go through the things we go through the things we do. Like I always tell my clients, our ancestors won’t develop this system of laws just to remind us that we have to resign to fate.

Of course, the article is not enough to voice my all thoughts and views on this subject, so if you happen to stumble upon my blog because of the Her World feature, do take some time to read through my other articles to get a better understanding of how everything works and what my views on metaphysics are if this is something that interests you.

I’ve been trying to hide my face for two years now but I guess this feature is as public as it gets and there’s no point hiding anymore. I’ve put up some pictures on my Facebook so that everything can put a face to the name – but here’s one anyway.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank my previous clients who have extended their well wishes and the regular readers of my blog, and also to my new clients who engaged me despite my age. I really hope the articles, testimonials etc conveys how much I appreciate this art, how serious about this I am and how much I wish it’d benefit people. Chinese culture and history has so much to offer even at this day and age, and embarking on this journey has been immensely rewarding.

That’s all for now! Wishing everyone health and happiness! =)

-Sean
