Using BaZi & Zi Wei Dou Shu To Look At Health Complications

Hi everyone,

I’ve not been blogging as regularly as the consultations keep coming in. The Chinese New Year and Valentine’s Day spike gets more overwhelming with each passing year. Yes – there is a spike in consultations during Valentine’s Day too for reasons everyone can guess.

I’m operating in the mode of blogging only when inspiration hits or there’s something valuable to share with everyone, so pardon me if the frequency of coming up with new posts is not as high as I figure a way to cope with the volume of consultations.

I wanted to take this opportunity to talk about health again, because like I’ve always mentioned, health is one of the things that people usually don’t pay attention to. I wish to reemphasize that if you wish to do well in your career, having better relationships or even transcend your chart, having good health is an absolute must. I’m sure everyone agrees that how you feel on a day to day basis plays a part in your motivation, drive and productivity. When you’re feeling good and have extra energy to spare, you’ll just feel like doing more constructive things in your life.

Speaking of which, and I can’t remember if I already mentioned this somewhere in my blog, but I do hope to start pursuing a degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine next year. It sucks to have to tell clients that I see health issues in the chart but yet, I can’t do anything to help. What I’m doing now does complement Traditional Chinese Medicine well. Let’s see how it goes.

The inspiration for this blog post came when an old client reached out to me. This consultation was in 2018 and she reached out a few days ago. My client has kindly allowed me to share her case on my blog.

Before I go on to the crux of the post: That’s a screenshot of my “Sent” folder in Gmail. Gmail users should know what I’m talking about. A few things I want to point out to my new readers:

  • The top right corner has my logo under Google Suite, so rest assured that is from my email account. The “sean.zxy86@gmail.com” email was the one I used when I first started giving consultations.
  • Notice the 3,862 emails sent and I’m deliberately making a statement here. When I said I’ve clocked a few thousand readings and provide a 7-day Q&A, I mean it.

I think I’ve made it very clear on my website that I am not the practitioner for everyone and I reject a lot of the cases that come to me. The Chinese New Year and Valentine’s Day spike this year was crazier than the last, and with that, naturally comes more people reaching out and that includes prospective clients who are not a good fit for my style of conducting things.

It’s been 6 years since I started doing this and my website is a trove of information that is supposed to help you make an informed decision on how to approach this field and benefit from it, but yet I still get challenged and have doubts cast on me due to my age. Just because I’m younger doesn’t mean I’ve clocked fewer readings or accumulated less experience and let’s not forget the ‘practitioners’ who can’t even read Chinese or bother about Chinese history or culture, and I certainly do not take one generic BaZi report and sell it to multiple people.

I’ve said this before, but the practitioner you eventually meet and whether he or she is legitimate, competent or not has a bit of fate involved. Just like how your spouse and children are, in a way, fated too. If you choose to remain an ignorant person who believes in superstition and whatever you hear on the media, you will never end up going to a legitimate practitioner because critical thinking and lack of clear judgment are completely missing.

This is the reason why I’ve always just focused on doing what I need to do – I do my consultations to the best of my ability, I appear on media only when it helps me spread the right message, and I write articles on this field in hopes that people will be more informed and educated.

I see the clients I meet as a form of an affinity, and because of this belief, I don’t see a need to hard-sell this service. If you believe in me, I will definitely do my best, but if there still doubts about my abilities and experience, please don’t bother to even reach out. And if you do reach out, don’t go on to ask me how many cases I’ve done, who my teacher is (because I’ve said countless times I self-studied everything) and how long I’ve been studying this.

I’m sorry for the rant, but I’ve been getting a lot of toxic clients recently that have been a huge drain on me mentally. Yes, they are the Category 4 charts that I always talk about. Guys, please, just because you are paying someone doesn’t mean you should be a snob. Please also understand that no one likes to hear about you whine about how everything you go through is the fault of others. Finally – and I’m going to be blunt here – if you lack common sense and you’re too lazy to even read for self-enrichment or follow simple instructions, I think we can all agree you’re not going to go very far in life. It’s not that I enjoy saying harsh or unpopular things, these little things do matter.

Anyway, you can click on the image to view the contents and the charts. I’ll put my client wrote here for convenience:

“Dear Sean I know this is a very late follow-up question, but I hope you could have a look and if there is a chargeable fee, please let me know.   I refer to this: “One other thing to note is that your 疾厄宫 (which represents your health) has a 巨门化忌 inside and it’s in a bad position, and this star represents kidneys and kidneys also affect our reproductive organs – it does suggest your reproductive organs are very weak and has some issues, and your bloody quality may be a bit lower as well. I would suggest you get all these checked first and do something about your health before you think of conceiving.”   I finally got a health check with a gynae and she found a few fibroids around and inside the uterus, and one was huge. Because of the size it can complicate matters during pregnancy and hence a surgery was recommended. However it’s still my choice to do the surgery or not.   I’m wondering if I should go ahead with the surgery and will it be for the better? Will there be any complications?”

Your BaZi (八字) chart and Zi Wei Dou Shu chart (紫微斗数) will never, ever contradict each other. Both these methods are legitimate methods that will paint the same story just that the way they convey the story will be different. Let me explain:

  • In your ZWDS chart, 疾厄宫 represents your health. The stars which land in there give us an indication of which organ will be the weakest. In this case, the chart-holder has 巨门 in there and 巨门 is in its weakest position (陷阱). On top of that, there is a 化忌 tagged to 巨门 which makes things even worse. Note that the element of the 巨门 star is Water.
  • If I were to explain it using BaZi: The chart will definitely require Wood and Water.  There is some Wood in the chart appearing as 卯,but Water is close to non-existent. The only source of Water appearing is in the 辰 Branch but 辰 is the ‘Water Tomb’ so Water is already at its weakest. There is even a 辰戌 clash, so it’s a metaphorical nail in the coffin for the Water element.

I don’t recall explaining it using BaZi to my client because Zi Wei Dou Shu was enough to pinpoint what the health issue would be. But yes, both methods will point to the same conclusion.

I’m not a doctor so I am in no position to advise on what’s should be done from a medical perspective. What’s happening now is that I’ll have to use Qi Men Dun Jia (奇门遁甲) to assess whether going for the surgery is the way to go.

My client shared with me that the fibroids were detected as early as 2018 by a different doctor but that doctor dismissed her case saying it would not complicate anything, but 2 years down the road the situation has worsened. The ‘trigger’ was in 2018 because it was an Earth year after all (戊戌), so not only is Earth strong during that year, the 辰戌 clash appears yet again.

One last thing I wish to share is that, unbeknownst to most Chinese metaphysics enthusiasts, Qi Men Dun Jia can be used to assess the competency of your doctor. We look at the 天心 star for that and will be able to assess if the doctor will be able to value add to your situation. A lot of our health issues are somewhat beyond our control and one variable that we hope to control is whether our doctor has our best interests at heart.

Please always remember that true progress comes from balance. Every aspect of our lives is important and you can only go as far as your weakest aspect allows you to. It doesn’t matter if you feel that balanced progress is slow and you want to accelerate things.

You can’t force a flower to bloom when it’s not supposed to.

– Sean
