Just a few quick updates on my end to orientate everyone new to this blog.
A lot of things are happening, and I find myself at a juncture where I decide to how I wish to move this sideline of mine forward. Resorts World Sentosa has already reached out for an event next year. I’ve not decided if I wish to participate yet, but just thought I’d share it with everyone (and yes I’m kind of showing off too). Really honoured and I guess it’s a testament to the work I’ve done so far. I’m not sure if having all these corporate engagements is the path I wish to go down. Yes, I’ll have more pictures to put on my website to tell everyone I’m in demand like how some other practitioners do it, but frankly, I always felt showing the email snippets on my website is enough.
I certainly do want to be seen as the thought-leader and authority in this field, but corporate engagements has never been a medium I felt was suitable to get me there. We’ll see.
First and foremost, for the new comers to my blog, I recently increased my engagement fees. It’s come to a point where I really need to manage the volume of consultations for the sake of my sanity and well-being, and unfortunately the only optimized mechanism I have at my disposal is economics. My time will become increasingly scarce as I progress in my corporate job and move into new chapters of my life such as marriage and starting a family, so my fees will be adjusted accordingly as well for sure. You can get an idea of how many requests I have by viewing the queue status here. Every time a request comes in, the graph will be updated.
There are a few updates to the processes for consultation request for both BaZi, Zi Wei Dou Shu and feng shui. I usually don’t get my prospective feng shui clients to fill up any forms, but that will be the case from now on. Both the forms of BaZi/Zi Wei Dou Shu and feng shui will have a “Client Screening & Suitability” section where prospective clients will have to answer a few simply questions before I decide to take on the case. You’ll find out what this is about eventually if you’re looking to engage me.
It’s a small addition to the administrative processes but I’m expecting help match the consultant and client much better moving forward. My philosophy and modus operandi is drastically different from a lot of the incumbent practitioners out there, and it’s extremely important that everyone understands this before they engage me. If your BaZi or Zi Wei Dou Shu chart is bad, I am going to tell you (provided I don’t reject the case); if your house has issues, I am going to tell you too.
I need to make it clear to everyone that practitioners are not meant to solve your problems. We just have a different way of seeing the way and how cause-and-effect plays out.
An additional new feature that I will be launching soon is restricted content. I understand a lot of people who visit my blog, especially those studying BaZi or Zi Wei Dou Shu, are keen to pick up a few tips and how the analysis is done and have some case studies to refer to. I’ll be completely honest and say that I don’t reveal my techniques on my blog with the exception of an occasional teaser or case study, because this is my livelihood at well and I’m not going to give it away for free.
I have a Patreon page which you can visit here. Patreon is not very well known in this region of the world, but it’s basically a platform for content creators to monetize their content by garnering “patrons” to support them monetarily. I’ve set up my Patreon page for a while now and was just thinking of shutting it down until I got my first Patron a few days ago, which prompted me give it another shot and work on this. There will be a section in my blog limited to Patrons only – which basically means the content there will require a monthly fee, or what they call “pledge” on Patreon. I know some of you might be thinking that I’m already earning based on my sideline, so why get so greedy by setting up another channel which I can earn. To be honest, I was afraid that I would be giving off this impression, because my fees aren’t very cheap to start with. The justification is this: My consultations are a monetization of my knowledge, skills and experience as I perform the task/service I was engaged for. This Patreon restricted blog is the monetization of my content – which is a different thing.
The upcoming Patron page will purely focus on case studies where I will go very in-depth into the theory and technique, and it’s meant for people who wish to use my website as a form of self-study. I will definitely engage with my Patrons there and let them have a say of what kind of content they wish to see. In case you missed the link above, here is the link to my Patreon page: https://www.patreon.com/masterSeanChan. If you’re a student of metaphysics and you’re for a place you can go to for case studies and discussions, do visit my Patreon page and see if this is something that’ll interest you.
I think what I’m I’m trying to achieve here as well is to be able to clear up some bandwidth for other projects. I’ve yet to find the time to set up on my online classes and also in-person classes, and I would definitely like to have more time to blog as well and continue my mission to educate others on this field, hence the increase in fees as well as the Patreon page. As much as I find it really meaningful to give consultations and helping people get more insight into their lives and what’s to come, it does take a toll on me and I have to recalibrate once in a while. This website is growing and maturing, and so is the traffic and so is the level of consultation request.
That’s all for now administrative wise!
